I believe that women, especially mothers, should be able to take care of themselves. How can you care for your family when you’re malnourished, weak, exhausted, and stressed out? You need energy and good health to keep up with the demands of your job and your role in the household as a mother.
That has been my personal advocacy for years—to inform women about their right to self-care. My heart breaks every time I hear stories from friends who suffer from self-pity because they have neglected themselves to prioritize the well-being of their children. No, you do not have to sacrifice your own health. There should be a balance between keeping your children healthy and maintaining your own health. You cannot achieve one without the other.
This is why Mamas Health Blog is filled with tips for busy moms, like taking care of your skin and keeping your brain healthy (so that your sanity is always intact!). Before I became a gym instructor, I had a short stint as a dietitian right after college. My academic background is in nutrition. So you will also find here some articles on healthy eating.
